Domain Registration Question – How do I hide my identity during domain registration?

December 25th, 2009 Leave a comment Go to comments

I am creating a website that will contain a forum. I was curious if people would be able to get my name and address if I used the correct information? I don’t want any repercussions if someone doesn’t like something said.

Best Answer: Hello,

Most of registrar gives Whois Privacy Protection. Some charge for this and some gives in free. Like godaddy charge 6 – 8 USD for this.
http://www.netlynx.com gives in free.

While ordering your domain you just need to chose privacy protection. It will show a raw data in whois from registrar.

  • You can choose to purchase the option to keep your info private when buying your site. If you choose not to, then you can get all the owner’s/admins info by doing a WHOIS lookup on the domain name.
